Snaptrip.com has announced the UK’s loneliest staycations for those who are peopled-out and need a break from civilisation, after internal data from the site revealed an increase in solo traveller bookings, as well as recent research from the ABTA that shows a rise in the trend.

Snaptrip’s internal data shows a 29% increase in properties being let to solo travellers within the last year, which corroborates research from travel trade association ABTA that shows solo holidays have tripled in demand in the last eight years, with one in six people now choosing to travel by themselves.
The same study found that having the opportunity to do what they want is why 76% of respondents travel alone, while 63% chose the ‘chance to take some time out’ as the main reason for solo travel.
