The LateRooms guide to London at Xmas

November 24, 2023

Hotel comparison website, LateRooms, has analysed its internal data* to find out which nights in December are forecast to be the cheapest and quietest in the capital, so that Londoners planning a festive evening on the tiles can get the most bang for their buck.

So those planning a night at The Nutcracker, an afternoon at panto or a long day at Winter Wonderland can get the inside scoop on the best days to book.

Most surprisingly;

- Saturday’s are on average the cheapest check in day of the month (£196 per night), while Sundays were the most expensive at £502 per night

- The seven days between the 15th and 21st of December are the cheapest week (Friday to Thursday at £265 per night), compared to the first two weeks of the month at £380.-

- The cheapest day was the 7th at £99 per night, while Christmas Eve was most expensive at £1,515.

LateRooms CEO, Matt Fox, says: “We know that the hotel prices are extremely sensitive to supply and demand and we also know that the run up to Christmas Day in London can be both hectic and expensive.“Though that’s partly because there are so many good reasons to go. We think that everybody should get to join in with that, so if we can help point people to when and where they are more likely to find a price they are happy with then that’s a nice thing.”
